This lovely building was probably a double townhouse, or perhaps an apartment building.
Though the photograph of the house comes from The Domestic Architecture of the Early American Republic: The Greek Revival, J. B. Lippincott Company, Philadelphia, 1926, I would probably characterize the house as being in the Adam style.
